The Alabaster Society was founded in 1990 to bring together all those who share the Alabaster name or who descend from an Alabaster ancestor. It is an international society, with members across the United Kingdom, Ireland, North America, Australia, New Zealand, and beyond.
Our origins
All Alabasters are believed to descend from a single family in Hadleigh, Suffolk. The earliest recorded ancestor is Thomas Alabaster of Hadleigh, alive circa 1522. From this one family, six main branches spread across Britain and the world over the following centuries.
